What are social media campaigns?

As the name suggest social media campaigns, it refers something related to social media or the usage of social media for doing campaigns/activity/event. It is the method by which companies/individual/group of people create awareness regarding their products/services or anything which they can provide.                                                                                        

Importance of social media campaigns

Nowadays most of the people using social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. to promote their campaigns so that most of the people reach them in short span of time. According to a report which came on January 2020 there are around 1 billion people on Instagram, Facebook has 2.6 Billion people and Twitter has around 68 million people and this number is increasing day by day as more and more people are coming forward and making their profiles on social media platforms making themselves more social and active in the society. So you can imagine the amount of reach/audience/customers companies would get for their products and services.

So there is no better option than social media to promote their goods and other stuff. 

I think that I have explained well about its meaning and importance but still if don't understand then I would share an example with the help of which you would definitely understand What are social media campaigns and Importance of social media campaigns.

This is an example of mine where I have participated in a social media campaign/contest where I promoted Internshala  Internships and how can students or anyone who want Internships can apply through Internshala free of cost. Now guys you can see yourself how we do social media campaign or you can say social media marketing by keeping in mind which service/product we are giving/selling to our audience. Also very importantly we should keep in mind that which type of audience we want to purchase our service, goods or products then only we can involve more and more people and make the most out of it. You only think if we show our campaign or ad to the people who are not our audience then they will not show interest and our campaign would be wasted.

For ex - If we show our campaign to a person who is already in the job or in the good position and we are showing him about Internships then there would be less chance that he would show interest. I guess you are getting what I am trying to tell you! Isn't it?

For targeting such audience we use hashtags related to service or products we are offering to the people because hashtags are those keywords which attracts the people of same interest. For ex - If the campaign is regarding web development Internship then we would use hashtags like #web development #html5 #CSS3 # JavaScript #websites etc.
